Taluswood - The Ridge

The clients approached us to undertake a complete renovation of their long-time and much-loved Whistler holiday home—a place their family has enjoyed for many years and wanted to continue enjoying for years to come.

The design brief was to create a classic, traditional mountain home with a subtle touch of glamour. While retaining the warmth and character of a traditional ski cabin, the clients wanted the home to feel more polished and refined, with elevated finishes and thoughtful details throughout.

A major focus was reimagining the main entrance and kitchen. Existing structural posts were removed to create a larger, more open kitchen with a stronger connection to the living spaces. A beautiful Crittall-style glass door was introduced between the entry and main living room, creating an elegant transition while allowing light to flow throughout.

The result balances traditional mountain character with a sophisticated, polished feel, while remaining comfortable and practical for a large, active family—a welcoming retreat for relaxing and gathering after days spent skiing in winter or hiking in summer.
